How The Wealthy Affiliate Program Evolved
If you’ve been looking for a way to make money online, you’ve probably heard of Wealthy Affiliate. The Wealthy Affiliate program is an online membership site that teaches you how to earn an income online by promoting other people’s products, and getting paid on a commission basis. This is called affiliate marketing, hence the name of the program.
The program was started by couple of guys named Kyle and Carson, who started off with affiliate marketing in college. They ended up being wildly successful, and started WA, where they teach other people their methods.
Initially, the program was totally based off of ppc, driving traffic to affiliate offers through pay per click advertising, the largest of which is Google’s AdWords program. The membership site offered tools, keyword lists, and a step by step program outlining Kyle and Carson’s methods.
Today the program has grown considerably, and includes detailed information on article marketing, a free traffic generation method made popular by Travis Sago, a student of Kyle and Carson’s, and longtime member of WA. Travis built his “Bum Marketing Method” site and opt in list at the urging of Kyle and Carson, and then promoted Wealthy Affiliate to his list of subscribers, so there was a large percentage of members at WA who were really more interested in Article Marketing than in ppc, and so the program expanded to cater to their interests.
Today, the program has grew tremendously from the tiny little membership site it once was. One feature that is constantly introducing new money making methods into it is the Share Zone, an area where members can create tutorials to share with the community that outline their own methods and techniques. The forum is also a very active one, as it always has been, where marketers communicate on the best affiliate marketing methods.
