Keys to Abundance

Social or financial blogging

I’ve had a funny – not to mention irritating – week so far. Having heard about the content publishing platform eHow a while back, I went over and checked it out. It turned out that it isn’t very useful unless you are US-based, as they don’t pay international contributors.

So this week, I saw that blogger PFIncome has set himself a 100 Article eHow Challenge. Good for him and I hope it pays off nicely. Although I couldn’t directly join in with eHow, I decided to challenge myself on a different platform – Triond. I reckoned I could write 3-4 articles per day and get over the hundred article mark by the end of August.

It all started well and two days and five articles later, I hit a snag. It appeared that Triond had changed their article submission rules. Originally you could just write a piece and publish it. But now – and I checked this with the Support Team at Triond – they require an image to accompany it. For me, that makes things a little difficult, as I’m trying to hustle to get the hundred articles, and it takes time to find decent images and get the required permissions to use them from the copyright owners.

Well this is where destiny came along! I decided to look into a combined increase in my article count over at Triond and Hubpages – I only have one hub on there so far, and it’s a numbers game to an extent; I need to publish a whole lot more.

When I went over and logged into my Hubpages account, I rummaged around and discovered the HubChallenge – 30 Hubs in 30 Days. I liked the sound of that, as it would give my income there a nice boost. Having somehow landed on the Readme section of the forum, I noticed a link to something called The Keyword Academy. This, and some other blogs (that I found linked through it) are really some seriously exciting resources! They have (I think) in the couple of hours I spent reading through some of them, entirely changed my views of how to make money online. (Of course, LifeSiren isn’t exclusively about online ventures, but these can be very useful indeed to provide self-sustaining income streams.)

These new blogs I have discovered don’t pull any punches, and shamelessly wave their results in your face; they need to really, as a good many people would not believe what they are reading. A good many blogs (this one you are reading included) are classified as ‘social’ blogs – they tend to go for high readerships, and a loyal fan-base, and somehow expect to sell them something. I do this myself, especially with Amazon products that I have bought and read and recommend. But the argument put forward by The Keyword Academy, or Griz, or Vic Franqui is that you’ll never make a dime doing it this way!

For me, their views on generating Adsense income from blogs introduced me to an almost spiritual moment of clarity, like getting a cataract removed. The real online money is made by anonymous people who are not interested in readership, friends and fans. They want their visitors to appear from search engines, with wallets open and specifically looking for something to buy. They (the visitors) are not interested in reading anything, they want to be provided with a link that quenches their spendthirst. They want a very quick hyperlinked doorway to the solution they seek.

Ultimately, the methods employed by these successful bloggers involve excellent keyword selection and a great backlinking strategy, to zoom their pages up the search engine rankings. Lots of determined buyers click on link number one, find a fairly ugly-looking site with an enticing Adsense ad beckoning them towards satisfaction. Click! Job done!

I am very excited to have found these blogs, and although I haven’t digested the methods involved, am extremely keen to give ‘em a go! I’ll post in future with more.

So my week started with a lot of work ahead for the month, went downhill rapidly, and then I found the “Holy Grail”!
